Is being able to cook a turn on?

Question - (26 February 2012) 5 Answers - (Newest, 27 February 2012)
A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I work as a cook in a kitchen for the last 3 years and recently (like the last year) my work load has gotten larger because I went through a semi-promotion if you will. Because of the work load I've lost 40lbs. The work load entails a lot more cooking on my part so I'm more hands on in the kitchen than I used to be. But as of late I'm starting to realize a lot more guys who I work with (who do not work in my kitchen) have been noticing me.

I don't have low self esteem, but I know that some of these guys who seem to show interest are leagues out of my league. So I've been wondering is it possible that guys are more attracted to ladies who can cook? Or is it just the weight loss that might have them looking my way?

Thanks guys. I wish I had more male point of views but never the less thanks for the info!

I do cook for the guys because its the only way they have breakfast/lunch most days. :)

k_c100 agony auntMen are pretty shallow, so it will be the weight loss! 40lbs is a lot to lose so I'm sure you will look very different, hence why you are getting more attention.

But being able to cook is a great thing too - an attractive woman who can cook is always going to be a winner for a man!

I hope this helps and good luck!

The quickest way to a mans heart is through his stomach. Yes it is a turn on! I dont think they notice your cooking unless u cooked for them. Sooo i think they are noticing your weight loss.

person12345 agony auntWell they can't really see the cooking skill, so I'd guess it's weight loss and confidence. But that doesn't mean being able to cook isn't a good thing. Any practical skill is a positive for sure.

YouWish agony auntI'm sure the weight loss is always a positive thing, and yes! I remember when I told the guy who was to become my husband that I could cook (I'm sure not nearly as good as you!), he was very excited.

I read not too long ago that the average number of meals a woman between 25-34 know without a recipe or a box is less than 3. As much as times and gender roles have changed, it's tough for a guy to shed his happy childhood memories of home cooked meals cooked by mom or grandma that took 2-3 hours to make.
