writes:I've been having regular intercourse for about 3 months now.Just recently,I've started to feel vaginal contractions which I'm finding very pleasurable.Is this an indication that my 1st orgasm is just "round the corner"-or is it just part of the general sensations I can expect during intercourse?(me and my boyfriend are still learning the basics to be honest!!)

 Absolutely, vaginal contractions are common during or nearing orgasm for many if not most women. They may be barely noticeable, especially to the man, and even to the woman having a good orgasm because of all the other sensations she feels at the time, but they almost always are occurring to some degree. Some are quite powerful contractions and obvious even to the man if inserted. It can feel great to the man, almost like the vagina is sucking on him. They are often quite rapid in succession. Sounds to me like you are getting very close - if your man can last for you, or apply oral stimulation first. Relax and enjoy the release.

It is good to hear you are taking things slowly as so many people think that an orgasm is like a badge of achievement when actually making love is really much more than that! You will know when you experience an orgasm, trust me, and so all I can say is keep relaxed and be 'in the moment' - by that I mean really concentrate on the here and now and enjoy what you are doing and when an orgasm happens it will be a wonderful addition.
