What do you think of an 18 year old female (just turned 18) drinking and whatever else with a 29 year old male? I know she is of legal age for the dating part, but I still don't approve. I personally think an age gap is okay, when you are older, but not 18 and 29. Any opinions would be appreciated. Also, any suggestions.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (4 October 2006):

Well I am 18, and I've been seeing a guy who is 29 for about 8 months (known him for nearly a year) and we work together and everything, and soon we will be leaving and working somewhere else so we can live together. We've talked about the age gap loads, and it really doesn't matter, cos I guess if you love someone then you don't really think about their age. So my advice is to do what you like if it feels right

*kez* agony auntwell it can sometimes work as my mate has a baby (shes 19) and he is 32. It depends on whether they actually truly love each other. Age is just a number.

Although on the other hand i am only 18 i have been seeing a 31 year old and i also used to go out with a 29 year old and i found that they are on different wavelengnths to me and in the end it was all about sex and in the end they both hurt me so beware what u are gettin yourself into babe xx goodluck

A male reader, David Lewis United Kingdom +, writes (4 October 2006):

David Lewis agony auntI think that is ok, I am 29 and engaged to a 17 year old female. I don't care what people think. This is MY life, not theirs. If I cared about what everyone thought, I would be a completely different person now.

If they like each other, go for it. Nobody is at fault for one being older. A relationship is about acceptance as much as anything. If the age difference is a problem for one of them, a relationship is not a good idea.
