Actually...

14 is the average age for girls.

18 is more the average age for guys.

Weird isn't it... history has reversed its self.

People lie and have different opinions on what losing your virginity really means. Oral? Intercourse? etc.

In my middle school about two or three couples had done "stuff" but no official (intercourse). People lost their virginity until high school.

It really depends on the country to be honest and the schools, i mean in England it's generally that young but other countries like china or japan it's much later

say_anything agony auntnope. some people have sex long before the age of consent and some people a good while after. i am 19 years old, and i spend most of my time with a group of six friends of the same age: one of us lost their virginity at 13 (MUCH too young if you ask her, and i agree), myself & another girl at 17, one at 18 and the other two are still waiting for the right moment :)

it's a matter of personal preference.

That is from 2001 but I think it's still pretty accurate.

So although some people have sex at 15 and younger, the same number of people have it at 18 and older. That gives you an average age of 17.

If you are clever then you will wait.

I know these figures are from the UK where our age of consent is 16.

There are some EXCELLENT articles on this site about first time sex so have a read and remember that most people at school say they have done a LOT more than they actually did.

Good Luck!! xx

hmmm, well i've never heard anything like this. i'm 15 and hardly anyone i know have lost their virginity, theres no need really until youve found someone you honestly love. i wouldn't worry about it. i haven't read the question you on about but i would say 16+ is the best age personally.

A reader, anonymous, writes (27 April 2009):

Sorry, let me restate that, it is possible that the average age of loss of virginity is 14, but it's impossible to accurately measure because you can't exactly ask everyone in the world. Besides that's only a meaningless number.

I don't know if that figure relates to Thailand, the figure could be higher or lower.

There is statistically an average age that people lose their virginty, but it means nothing.

What part of what he said do you want to know is true or not?
