Before you give up i would give it one hell of a shot. then at least you can walk away knowing you tried! always remember don't rush her and give her some breathing room, and just be friends! for now and watch and see where it takes the both of you. you can always make love blossom sounds like you truly like her alot so maybe you have a chance of winning her heart go on a picnic but don't over do it but just talk to her like a friend let her open up to you then you will know your cue.
