A female United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I broke up with my ex 3 months ago because he couldnt decide who he wanted,me or another girl.(we had been together a year) since then we have been in contact. Basically he has used me to borrow money etc and i've been stupid enough to do it.now he's decided he wants the other girl which if fine,I still love him but I know I'm better off without him. I'm just worried about the money he now owes me. he says Ill get it back but he's very slow in doing so and it's quite alot of money. help, this is such a horrible situation to be in.

Oh dear. That's not a good situation to be in. A lot of people have done this and not been sure where they stood. Go to this site. www.citizensadvice.org.uk and find out where you're nearest branch of citizen's advice is. They give free advice, and might be able to tell you what you can and can't do. Hope it works out. And in the future, be aware of lending money.
