Please help.

I have been with my partner for nearly nine year and have a child with him but recently while out drinking i kissed someone he works with. i get on with the guy as friends and regularly txt him. My partner isnt aware of what happened and i decided to split with him to sort myself out. I stayed at home for teh sake of our child but made it clear we were split.

I had sex with my partner we agreed with no ties. I then get a txt from the guy io kissed saying he likes me but my partner has told the guys at work we have never been split up. He obviously thinks i have been lying to him and it will prob ruin the friendship.

My partner thinks we should get back together and i agree but how do i tell this guy nicely and without the chance of his blabbing about us?
