I'm wondering if it's easy to make friends there? See, I'll be going to this college alone because my friends are going elsewhere. I'm worried I won't make friends and that I'll be alone there for the whole of the two years. I like to think I'm an approachable person and I get along with people quite easily but I have no idea how to start friendships with people? I'm having awful anxiety when thinking that I might have no friends for the whole duration of college. Can someone please bring me down to earth and reassure me that it surely won't be that bad? Don't go overboard trying to make friends; you'll panic and end up trying to force them. Being genuine and polite will help attract people to you and just let the relationships develop in there own way.
Relax.

Hello,
Im sure you will soon make friends - thing to remember, most of the students will be your age and share a common interest in the subjects(s) you are studying. Im sure the college will soon have you all doing ice breaking exercises and so on to get you all talking.
You have friends from school right? Well you didn't know them before starting school! Same with college. You will soon be making new friends and meeting new people...might even be some nice girls on the course ;-) Unless you do Engineering like I did all those years back, the closest we got to having a girl on the course was a lad with big man boobs and long hair. I don't think Arc Welding and flame cutting appealed to the girls, at least back then.
You have a few months yet to prepare!
Mark
