I am supportive of him quitting and being physically active together. However, he recently started to smoke again and has since stopped running but whenever I try to go for a run after work he tells me that our relationship isn't working and that he'll never be happy with me and that if I go for a run then he'll just masturbate and not want to have sex later that day.I do not understand how any of this correlates or is related...but anyone who is used to dealing with men like this...advice would be appreciated...I think that the bottom line is that i just do not feel appreciated as I respect and appreciate him...

If you give him an inch of control on this he will take a mile on other things later and you will be left wondering how someone ever took over your life so completely. Don't fall for it. You should be running, all right...far, far away from this relationship! Good luck
