Recently i've started to exercise a lot more, and watching what I'm eating too.

I've been doing this for about two months, and I have noticed that my inner muscles are becoming toned, and much stronger. However, you can't see this, as there is still a layer of fat over the top of them.

In three months, I'm going on holiday, and would love to lose this excess weight in order to have a body I'm proud of.

I don't think I need to lose much, just about an inch all over.

Anyone got any tips on how to do this?

It's mostly in the diet. I was working out for about a year and noticed the same thing that I was getting a bit toned yet the fat was still around my stomach. I really watch what I eat and now I see a lot more definition. Try to eat six times a day. Don't eat till you're full, eat till you feel satisfied. Above all, it's the discipline. When working out for getting toned or more muscles, it's 40% working out 60% intake. It sounds like you're not doing too bad.

You don't mention what type of exercise you've been doing, but you do say that your muscles are much stronger, which is excellent! Sounds like you're doing a great job! Keep up what you're doing, but add more cardio to your routine. I do 60 min of cardio 5-6 days per week. To lose that little fat layer, it's also very important to eat small meals throughout the day. I recommend the book Body For Life for your nutritional plan. I don't like the Body For Life fitness plan, though. I personally need more cardio than the book recommends. Good luck and have fun! :)

well, partly, you just need to wait. keep doing what you're doing, and the fat will start to come off. it's probably coming off already, but it happens slowly, so you can't tell at first. it's common to feel like you're actually getting *fatter* when you first start working out, b/c your muscles are bulking up and the fat isn't quite going away yet.

but the other tip is to avoid sugar/sweets. Your body turns to fat for energy when there's not enough glucose in your blood to supply your cells with energy. If you're eating sugar, you're giving yourself blood sugar spikes, and that's not great for fat burning.

two other easy weight loss tips. 1: skim milk. drink a lot of it. it's good for you, fills you up, studies have shown it helps women take weight off, and it's low in calories overall. 2: at every meal, before you eat anything, separate a portion on your plate that you won't eat. at restaurants, i normally just cut the portion in half. if you want to take it to go, so as not to waste food, that's cool. but whatever amount you've been served, set aside at least three bites that you will not eat. cuts out a surprisingly lot of calories, without you really noticing it.

oh, and give up alcohol. booze is a diet-killer.
