Please help. I went to Melbourne Oz for a couple of months earlier this year and I loved it so much now I'm back in England I feel so depressed and the idea of emigrating there is building up in my head. I am excited by this but think its such a big step. I want to study there first as this is an easier visa to get. Leaving people behind I feel guilty about as Mum and Dad rely on me and friends. What should I do? Am I just in fantasy land has anyone moved there and loved it is it all I think it is?? HELP I'm not able to sleep thinking about it all.

MissWendlemoot agony auntIf you want to do it, just do it! I came to Oz from the USA and it was one of the best things I've ever done.

Go to the www.immi.gov.au/ website and have a look around.

If you are under 30 there is a working holiday visa and of course there is a student visa.

Best wishes xo

A male reader, Collaroy Australia +, writes (13 August 2008):

Collaroy agony auntHi,

I have emigrated many times.. From New Zealand to Australia, then Australia to the U.K then the U.K back to Australia....Australia is definitely the best: warm weather, good job opportunities and it's not crowded like the northern hemisphere.

You have to ask yourself one question: am I independent?

We get so many people who once they make the big move suddenly can't handle it, the family ties are too strong. But you sound quite independent so what are you waiting for?

You are young enough so that if you don't like it you can always return to the U.K.

And for goodness sake your parents shouldn't have to be relying on their 20 something daughter you have your own life to live, just like they did when they were your age. Dont use that as an excuse, if you want to emigrate, do it!
