However i am to very shy, i dont even know how to flirt with a guy. and tbh my main problem is i couldnt just start calling him babe or anything as he;d just find it strange because hes known me for so long and he knows i dont normally do that. Any discreet ways fo showing it, maybe just to get him to talk? or just to show him i do like him to? Even when we do talk its more or less me asking questions he never says much at all :(

 Why waste time? Wouldn't it be better to just walk up to him and start a conversation. Look at it this way: "Your not together now, but your interested in him; You want to flirt and show interested, but don't know how; If you just start talking to him he can do two things: 1) start talking with you or 2)say he's not interested; Conclusion: If he starts talking to you and carries the conversation, he's interested and you can flirt from there or he can say he's not interested and you are still not together, but can move on to someone who is interested. I was once shy and you wouldn't believe how many girls I missed out on dating when I was younger. At reunions they would always say they had a crush, but was too shy to talk to me and I would answer, that's funny, I had a crush on you and couldn't talk to you either. Missed opportunities. Live in the present. The worst thing that is going to happen is he will say no. No won't kill you or keep you from meeting someone who will say yes. If you are going to still try to flirt first, try making lots of eye contact, twisting your fingers through your hair and smiling. Usually that's enough. I sure sign that he may be interested is if your eyes meet more than three times and he smiles.
