writes:hey, i have known this guy for like 5 years and he spoke to me loads at first (i was really shy) but he wasnt single so i thought nothin of it.he split up with his girlfriend but never said why and from then on he spoke to me even more and we had a sorta love hate realationship. we used to either egnore each other or be really good friends. everyone said we were made for each other but then it took me ages to realize i liked him. so i've been takin this as a crush and it worked and i got over him real fast. but i realize now that actually i think i'm in love with him and in the past i rejected him (when other ppl asked me if i'd go out with him)and i worry that i upset him. he still seems to like me though. i need help with what to do when you are in love?! i am really shy about this and dont tell anyone how i feel and i am not even sure how he feels anymore. i think he likes me.... i am scared to ask him out!

 I say go for it. Love is the greatest feeling in the world. I've been dating this girl for 6 months now and I love her more than anything else in the world. I'm not gonna lie we have our problems, she doesn't really like to open up to me, and we recently started arguing a little, but even so I still love her more than anything in the world and wouldn't trade her for anything.

reader, anonymous, writes (26 August 2009): hey. you know what? i say tell him you like him! what have you got to lose? so it might be awkward if he says he doesnt feel the same, but it wont stay awkward forever. its either 5 minutes of nerves and embarrassment, or god knows how long of "what if"! and you never know, you say you think he still likes you so you might as well go for it. let me tell you something that i realised, today in fact, that from now on i will always pay attention to; LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO LEAVE THINGS UNSAID. ive always heard it but never understood just how true it is. and now i do. i really do think you should go for it. who knows what will happen? good luck!
