Origionally we were going to universitites within a few miles of each other but due to exam results my boyfriend is now going to one that is about 4 hours away from where I will be. We have talked about what to do and neither of us want to break up, but I am not sure if this would be for the best. Please, I'd appreciate any advice, or anyone who has been in a similar situation! I definitely know this feeling ! It's a horrible dilemma :( My boyfriend (of a year and a half) is from Holland, and came to study in the UK 2 years ago, but he soon has to decide whether to continue studying here in the UK or go home to Holland in a years time. I am terrified of him choosing to go home, because I wouldn't feel the same for the year he is here and be heartbroken when he does leave. I don't have a sure answer either, but a good friend of mine told me maybe try and do it long distance, and then least it wouldn't hurt so much if you drift apart gradually. It's not much, but I hope it helps a little :)
