So I was thinking today what my future marriage(s) will probably follow the same path. And now that divorce rates are so high...I think I've just lost faith in the idea of marriage.Has anybody here actually been married a long time and still happy?I need somebody to un-jade me.

Yeah my parents. Married 25 years, 4 children. They cant bear to be apart, Dad travels a lot and mum will finish work (she's a teacher) and fly over to meet him in, say, Paris for dinner and one night, then come back super early the next morning for school. Every night they sit in their sitting room and talk for hours, chatting over each other and keeping us all up with screeches of laughter. The thought of divorce in our house is utterly laughable. When we go to family events, they embararss us all by snogging on the dancefloor and generally being too soppy for words. Its amazing - you can have it too, just find the right person.

I've personally never been married not through lack of not wanting to just lack of finding that 'one' we all hear so much about, I know quite a few people who feel the same way as you regarding marriage but at the same time I do know alot of people still married, been married a long time and some even still on their first marriage. My Dad is now on his third marriage which may seem alot but he has been marriage to his wife for 15 years now and they are both so happy together so it really does show that sometimes just because it doesn't go right the first time round you should never give up because sometimes we do have to have a few trial and errors before we get it right.
