I'm guessing because you don't have children of your own? Maybe it's not necessarily the children you're jealous of, but that they're not your children that your partner is paying attention to. After all, they are just innocent children, there isn't any reason to have ill-feelings toward them. Maybe you feel that you don't have much in common with the kids and they haven't quite warmed up to you and perhaps you feel a little left out at times? Again these are just some guesses as you didn't elaborate at all.
