reader, anonymous, writes (10 September 2007): You have given us 15 examples of how this woman has ended her emails and yet, she has never made a more romantic move to letting you know she interested in anything more than a good, quality friendship. She is not gay, Kelsi. I myself, am straight and I have very good female friends I send emails to. These females are wonderful supportive, devoted friends. Their spirit of friendship and love has been with me through many difficult, challenging times, in my life. When I correspond with them, I always answer my emails with expressions such as: Hugs, Miss you, love ya, xxoo, etc. Us gals just do this. We are nuturing, warm, giving, appreciative people and we express that openly. Straight women do love other woman but never in a 'romantic' way. Your friend has been truthful, she told you she is not gay. You have to accept that. She is likely emotionally needy and sad if her marriage is unhappy and she is viewing you as a supportive friend...that is all. Do not take all that she tells you 'out of context' and read more into it. This will just drive you crazy. The important information to focus on is "she was straight and that she had chances to be with another female when she was younger but didn't because she said that's not me" Although she seems quite expressive and exuberant in her messages to you..she has simply said these things to you, because she loves you as a 'friend'...nothing more.

 She could simply need someone to be sweet with, since she's not getting it from her husband. Don't bet she's going to leave him, not any time soon. If you want a relationship with someone, I recommend cutting her off so that you give your heart a chance to get over her.
