I think nicknames are things that ought to come naturally. Not everyone fits a nickname either.
And when it comes to nicknames between couples, they are often best kept private. No one wants to know if you call your boyfriend "cutie putie". It isn't anyones business either for that matter. So pick something you like and feel is natural and makes you happy, and then only use it while the two of you are alone. Otherwise your boyfriend would just get embarrassed.

Why not pick something that relates to a funny moment or his favourite movie? Example:
I was in a maths revision class back in high school me and my friend Liam were kidding about something. He was like "oh yes, I actually understand this" and we were joking about and he was teasing me saying he's obviously more clever than me. Then he wrote on my page "hahaha I'm CLEAVERER than you :P" Now his nickname is Cleavy. All because of the letter "A" that he put into a word. It short, it's quick, and everytime you say it, it makes him smile. Hope this inspired you! xxx
