Good heavens, most of us couldn't *identify* a fifth cousin to know if we were sleeping with them or not. You're not even remotely offside the law. If I'm not mistaken, Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt were more closely related than that.

You can look up the laws for your state...but fifth cousin??? I'm sure you're fine. I think in most states second or third is legal.

That is legal its considered distant family and there is nothing legally wrong with it in the USA.
