Ok, I met this guy thru work, we don't work for the same company he delivers product to us at least 2-3 days per week. He gave me a christmas card before I gave him mine. I know we have been flirting, so I wrote in my card call me sometime, but I did not leave my number. We spoke shortly afterward and talked about what we thought of each others cards, he said yeah we'll go have some beers sometime, but didn't ask for my phone number. The 3 days following this he waved and smiled once and that was all I saw of him. I know he was slowing down in his truck to talk to me yesterday but I walked the other way, trying to make distance ya know? anyway,I am starting to get negative about his response to my little call me note in the christmas card. He stressed a lot to please don't let no one know he gave me a card cuz he would be teased terribly.

I'm starting to interpret this as he doesn't want anyone to know cuz he is embarassed to admit he gave a fat chick a card. (he also said he did it cuz he thought I was a nice girl)I am a full figured women (size 18) age 49. friends say I am very pretty and have a great attitude, he is 50. I really am crushing on this guy and now it is christmas eve and I didn't even see him today, well sorta I did, I was walking out and saw his truck coming, but I pretended to not see. I just feel so embarressed about the note and now that feeling that he isn't going to even ask for my number that he just said that. I really though there was something between us, now I may have blown it by writing that call me crap. I also think his statement of Please don't say anything about the card to anyone cuz they will rib me is really starting more and more to saound like I don't want to be emabarassed infront of my coworkers cause I gave you a card and am associated with you.

I don't know what to think anymore. please help me think more positive about this before I totally ruin any possible friendship. He hasn't asked for my number yet and I know it has only been 3 days since, so I purposely made myself be distant from him after the card exchange, I'm feeling vulnerable and stupid, please someone, is this possible friendship ruined now. what can I do to make things better with us possibly getting together? How do I know he isn't lying about getting together? A lot of guys just say that line. does it really mean he is embarrased to be around me when he says don't tell anyone about the card? please someone help.

fishdish agony auntI would just add, that it IS the holidays, it's possible he has other things to do at night, or just isn't ready to see someone new around this time of year; i'd say 2 weeks would be a better sign of rejection.

first of all you need to calm down and stop analyzing over every little thing that happens with this man. if he ever realized it he would think you very clingy. if he is into you will know. he did not get your number so he may not be but id give it more time. if a man is into you most of the time they will go for it. as far a friendship just act like nothing over the card and be friendly as usual, nothing to be embaressed over. as far as not wanting you to tell you got a card.. well i dont know about that one sorry
