reader, anonymous, writes (16 May 2007): I understand you being shy or just underconfident or whatever it is, but to be honest I think if you really like her, you should tell her to her face, because then she will know you mean it. Also, you can tell how she feels if it is face to face, whereas if you are talking via notes, you can never tell exactly how a person feels or even if they are tellling you the truth. Why don't you just go up to her and ask her if you can have a word in private, then take her somewhere and just tell her outright how you feel? Just a suggestion, hope it helps.

reader, anonymous, writes (16 May 2007): Do NOT send her a note! You need to find the courage to talk to her in a casual sort of way. AFter getting to know her and getting her used to talking to you, then bite the bullet and ask her. Sending a note is the coward way to do it. I am a very attractive woman and I've found many notes on my car or in my locker (when I was in high school and college). Each note basically told me they really liked me and asked me to call them. It was sweet, but I either kept the note or threw it away. My thought was if you don't have to courage to ask me out to my face, why would I want to go out with you!
