i am turning 18 soon. my girlfriend is 14. we live in pennsylvania. we have been dating for a month. i was told i can be arrested for sexual harassment and be a registered sex offender for dating a minor, even so much as kissing her. is there a way to get a legal document signed by her parents giving us permission to date or any possible way we can continue dating?

this is the same person who posted the question here. we have both looked into it. i talked to someone who is involved in keeping the law upheld. she told me by PA law even kissing her could result in future problems if we were to break up. things like if i broke up with her, then all of a sudden i have charges pressed against me and she's saying we did things against her will, even though we both know it was consensual on both sides. so i don't know where to go from here.

The information is correct. However there is nothing you can do until she is 16 then her parents can let you guys get married. If her parents really are comfortable then you dont have too much to worry about. Just leave the more intimate stuff, like kissing, for more private place like the car or her door step or a theater. If an adult sees you, someone like a teacher or neighbor, then charges can be pressed and being registered as a sex offender ruins a life. My suggestions in no PDA and make sure that her parents really are comfortable. Also no sex unless you are both 18 or you get her parents to let her get married.

person12345 agony auntNo and I believe only sex is illegal, though I could be wrong. And no. No matter what the parents do it's illegal. There are no forms. And yes, you would be a registered sex offender if you got caught, which is an enormous deal. It could ruin your entire life. You just have to wait, sorry. Shouldn't you find someone closer to your own age?
