you need to think about this i lost my virginity at the age of 14 and i regret that because i wasn't with the person i truely loved. at the age of thirteen peer pressure can sometimes be a problem and thats why young teens feel the need to have sex. if you boyfriend has not mentioned it don't do it many people i know regret it. trust me. have you thought about it what could go wrong? do you know the consequences? you need to think about the time you've spent with the boy do you really know him? how comfortable are you around him? i wish i'd made my first time special with some1 iknow i truely love like my current bf. it should be special and therefore that person your with should be special to you. to be honest your slightly too young to understand what true love is and i know this as people used to tell me the same at your age. the law can't tell you when your ready to have sex it's your heart and your mind that knows when your truely ready!!!

B careful and you have to think!! will you regret this

i hope this helps

PLEASE - LISTEN to what Dr. Psych and Rythmandblues have written!

You are barely out of childhood - sorry, not a put-down, but a FACT and are much too young, physically and emotionally to get into sex with anyone, plus the legal implications, and risk of cervical cancer, sexually transmitted diseases (including the HIV virus) and an unwanted pregnancy!

Sure, you may WANT to have sex - teenage hormones in girls as well as boys run strong at your age. Just DON'T ACT on them! Enjoy being friends with him, and your other friends and school activities, too. Forget the sex until you are older - and I do not mean until you are 14!

A reader, anonymous, writes (15 December 2006):

Dr.. Psych is right, and I think you are way too young to have sex with any boy of any age....Your risk of having cervical cancer is greatly increased by having sex before the age of about 21 for most women...I work with a 19 year old girl that was just diagnosed with cervical cancer and she has only had sex with two different boys.

Not to mention that you are not emotionally mature enough to handle the confusing and strong emotions that come with having sex....young boys of this age are not very mature either, and may not like you anymore after having sex as they have one thing on their mind and it isn't you.

Please get more involved in your school work and outside activities so that you can have a life of your own that is full of self respect, don't be in such a hurry to experiment with sex, it is not worth the consequences at this age.

Nikita agony aunthi anon, well as Dr Psych says, the age of consent is 16 here and it is ilegal to have sex if you're under that age as you are. Its good that he hasnt pressurised you into it yet and dont let him. there is a good reason why the age of consent is 16 and thats because at 13 your body hasnt fully developed yet and there are all kinds of risks involved that you dont want to have to deal with at your age. There is plenty of time for sex when your're a bit older. If this boy respects you then he'll wait until you are ready. take carex

A female reader, DrPsych United Kingdom +, writes (15 December 2006):

DrPsych agony auntFrom a legal perspective it is entirely down to where you live - the age of consent in the UK is 16 and technically he could be prosecuted here for sexual activity with a child if you did start a sexual relationship. The law here states that individuals under the age of 16 cannot give consent for sexual intercourse (regardless of whether you agreed or not). The term is statutory rape. Most countries have similar arrangements and the long-term consequences of having a criminal record for sexual offences are serious.

There are all sorts of health implications to having sex at an early age such as an increased risk of cervical cancer for example.

if it will help any. the legal age to have sex is 14 in most countries and states. as a 13 year old, u can be charged for having sex under age. it happens all the time, just read the news paper sometime. and ur boyfriend can get into a lot of trouble too. do u want that. do u want to ruin ur life
