[MOD NOTE: Two questions combined from the same poster]

1. What does "seeing each other" mean? I know it has something to do with boyfriend/girlfriend, but I dont know!

2. Help, please! I think I love my best friend. Well I don't think, I know it! He's never had a girlfriend before, so i'm abit nervous to ask him out. We are really flirty, but he's like that to all girls! Plus, I'm best friends with his wee sister. I'm 13 and he is 14, he's just so different from all those other boys, he treats me with respect and cares so much. I have told him i liked him and he didnt make much of it.. Asked him out, he said no, that left me heart broken. But now i'm still loving him, even though it's 1 year later! how can I move on! I know he's a waste of time, but i just can't get over him with a click of my fingers. At the moment we are just good friends, but i still love him so much that it hurts and i only want to think of him as my best friend..The way we started.. please help :( thankyouu x

A female reader, Miamine United Kingdom +, writes (15 February 2010):

Miamine agony auntI'm sorry honeypie, but I think you and him are too young. Your not really sure what going out or seeing someone is, so I don't think your ready for dating. He is older than you, but he's still young. He's probably not interested in girls at the moment, and like you, he's probably interested in girls who are older than him.

You have no choice. You asked him out, he said no. He's still your friend but he doesn't feel the same way you do. We can love many things, we can want many things, but we don't always get what we want, and we can't force people to love us back.

Your getting older. If you find it too painful then you and him can't be friends no longer. You have to stop spending time with him. I know it's hard, your heart hurts when you see him, but he makes you happy and you feel good when your around him. Unfortunately he doesn't feel this way. I know you hate this bit, but it's true... Time, Time, in time you'll feel differently, your body will grow and you will meet someone who likes you the same way that you like them. I'm sorry, but that's how love is sometimes.
