I don't think the man should have been snooping around on his wife's phone in the first place, but if he is insecure enough to do such a thing I also suspect he is insecure enough to read it as a sexual flirt.

Depends how well the two of you know this man. I have some friends that my husband wouldn't think a thing of if they sent a comment like that to me but if it came from someone he didn't he'd probably find it weird. Honestly though I would take it as a joke with no inunendo behind it.
