reader, anonymous, writes (8 February 2008): Actually, you do not get a real "period" at all while on the pill. You do bleed, but there is no egg, so it is not a real period. The bleeding is caused by being off the hormones for the week. You can still get this bleeding (which is like a period) while on the pill even if you are pregnant. If you think you might be pregnant, then you should go see a doctor or take a home pregnancy test.

If you think there is any chance that you are pregnant, then stop aking the pill. Go to see a doctor or take a test. You need to know if you are or not, its no good leaving it all to chance. And if you are pregnant, taking the pill will not get rid of the baby. But it could do you both harm.
Please just see a doctor.
