If she's 30..do I still refer to her as a 'girlfriend' or is there a more mature word?

Hi, just wondering something. My girlfriend doesn't wanna get engaged until she's like 30 or something, you know, with financial security and stuff (she's 21 now). But at that age, I dont know if it would feel right to be calling her my girlfriend still... If you were 35 and dating someone, would you tell your friends she was your girlfriend/boyfriend or is there another word for it?

Sorry if this is too trivial!

My 'boyfriend' and i have been together 6 years and and have a 2 year old daughter, we have no intention of ever getting married. I refer to him as my partner. This is a commonly used term now days.

its a perfectly good question if it would concern you calling her girlfriend then why not just say partner failing that ask her and see what she would prefer to be referred to as.
