Hi, I'm looking for a really good first date idea. I really, really like this girl and want to show her that I care about her and am not like the jerks she has dated in the past. But before I ask here out I need to have a plan...

Ladies, what are some dates you have gone on that you really liked?

I feel like dinner and a movie is so boring and normal, I want to do something exciting and romantic, like stargazing or something like that. Any ideas?

Thanks

SirenaBlusera agony auntIt depends on what's available in the area where you live. I lived in the mountainous part of Mexico and a friend and I went hiking in the mountains of Tepoztlán. I'm a huge nature lover. A lot depends on your interests and hers.

Bonne chance! :)

WhiteKnight agony auntDinner is fine, but movies are a crap date, at least early on - because you're sitting in silence, and you can't get to talk to them etc, which is the whole point of the date.

While I admire your desire to really reach out there, like stargazing etc, the quality of the company is vastly more important than the surroundings. Keep the first date simple and stress free, if anything, think of some harmless but funny jokes to fire at various points.

How about taking her out to a nice cosy coffee shop for a drink, snack and talk, then onto something fun, crazy golf, or the cliche bowling, or something similar. In my experience, first dates 'need' to be light hearted, its the company that makes it special and memorable and different, revolve it around being able to interact with her, and vice versa.

Show her a stress free, pressure free, light hearted time of laughter, and I guarantee she'll remember it. If you go too deep, too soon, then that can backfire (its happened to me) ;-)

WorldFallsUp agony auntIf you want something romantic then do something that she is interested in or cares a lot about. Like if she really likes animals take her to the zoo. Or if she is into stars, the stargazing with a night picnic idea. The sky is the limit on this.

All you need to do is do your research on her and get creative. If you really like her, this will be a little scary, but exciting to plan. Some of the most romantic ideas that come from a guy are the ones that shows he pays attention, that he knows you.

You don't need to go expensive on this, just creative.

Best of luck! I am sure you'll do great!
