Our relationship is somewhat long distance (bout 80 miles) and we do have to spend some time apart as he works shifts, I want to be able to buy him a little token gift to keep for times apart any ideas. Probably sound soft but I have never had this feeling before and hope it lasts.

And then I found these dog tag necklaces, kind of like what soldiers wear but instead of having a name imprinted on it you can have your face on it your even just a loveing message. Youve got to check them out!

Romantic gifts that always triggers memories of you? There are a few things you can do.
- Get him a funny/lovely keyring - He will think of you everytime he gets into home/car.
- A bookmark. (I made one with pictures of me and girlfriend and gave it to her). Everytime she opened a book she think of me before disappearing in her own world.
- A man's necklace but with some sort of enscription on it (if he's ok with jewellery). It will be noticed when he goes into the bath/bed and will think of you.
I would generally avoid pictures in frames - they are very "static".
Aim for something that he would likley keep close to him but need to refer to constantly.
Good luck!
