How can you call someone you have only met once your boyfriend? I find it strange that he wants this girl's number, so he can tell her that he is not interested too.
Surely he could mail her, as you have pointed out. I think he wants to keep his options open before he decides on settling down with anyone. Beware of internet dating, they are full of predators.
