Hey everyone !

Well I've been talking to someone for 5 months now and I'm not sure if I should tell him about my best friend which is a guy. I'm wondering if it's too late to let him know or not ? I like this guy "X" a lot and I've never mentioned my best friend to him b/c I didn't think we'd continue to talk since this is a long distance type of relationship. We haven't put a label on what "we" are but X knows how I feel and he says he has the same feelings for me too. We have seen and contact each other via FaceTime or phone call. The reason why I have a problem with this is b/c last time I mentioned a guy friend of mine we argued about it. But the only reason why we argued about it was because my guy friend did say something bad about him and this person did not even know X at all, he just assumed and I asked X about it and he started to tell me some personal info about him. From there on everytime we have a small argument he's always saying "Well at least you have a back up 'boyfriend'." Or he mentions how stupid he is and etc. I just get upset b/c I'm not even thinking about this person when we argue and he just brings him up. So that's the problem I'm dealing with now. I want to tell him that I have a best friend but I don't want him to get upset like the last time. I feel like if I explain things to him and say that he's just a friend, that he might think I'm a liar or just think like, here we go again with the "friend." I don't know how to tell him, or how to bring it up. I feel like I should tell him in person when we meet soon this upcoming weekend but I'm now sure if it's better in person or through the phone.

Well honestly he's a very attractive, kind, intelligent gentleman. I want to tell him that I do have a straight best friend. So I was about to tell him about my best friend but before I did we had a conversation about guys & girls being friends & he busts out with "I don't believe a straight guy and girl can be best friends." So yeah that killed my confidence but I still have some hope. He seems really jealous when I do mention some guy friends but once I tell him details of what happened then he calms down.
