Sorry that this isn't a question about relationships.. I am wondering if any of the ladies here can advise on how to properly shave pubic hair. Right now I use the same shaver I use for my legs, but the shaved pubes grow back really quickly and even the freshly shaved area feels rough and not smooth at all. I have tried wax strips by Nair but they don't work at all for some reason. I also don't want to wait till the hair to grow to a certain length each time before I use wax.

I want to shave not only the bikini line but also down on the labia section as well. What is the best product available? I know there are shavers with smaller heads for this purpose. But again I am worried that the hair will become ingrown. Any suggestions? Thanks.

It's really wrong that a guy is answering this question but, here' goes.

Depilatory creme, I have a lot of friends in college who remove thier body hair either for swim teams or personal appearance. The cremes especially those for sensative skin are quick, painless, and long lasting. Just make sure not to get it on your head... its a long, rather awkward story :(

Hmmm. Might be a rather explicit answer!

I am a super allergic person [can't wear perfumes or earrings because I react] and if I shave my bikini line or the front of my vulva I get huge red spots. Very erotic - not! So, I use hair removing cream on the bikini line and then treat it with anti-ingrowing hair lotion, trim the front really short with electric clippers so you can hardly see the hair, and shave the inner lips with an ordinary razor. Genital skin doesn't react like my 'ordinary' skin so I don't have spot problems. Took me years to sort this regime out but it does work and the less hair, the more sensation, for me anyway.

SirenaBlusera agony auntI know that your question is about shaving, and I don't mean to ignore your question, but I think that it's much better to go to a salon and have it waxed. I know that you have to wait for the hair to grow to a certain length, but a professional salon wax will usually last for several weeks. Home waxes, on the other hand, yield somewhat disapointing results. The only body part I've ever tried to wax at home is the bikini line... and it was a disaster. It hurts, believe me. I have to have my eyebrows waxed or they get kind of wild. I'd like to have a bikini wax in a salon, but I'm too embarrassed to be naked in front of another girl.

Regarding shaving... to put it delicately, I don't put it into practice, but I've read about how to properly shave that area. I understand that it's not so much product, it's how you do it. A girl wrote in to YM magazine asking if it was okay to shave all of it off, and they wrote her back, saying "if you must shave, here's how to do it." First, you should trim the hair, and you should shave after a shower or bath. Then, shave it very carefully... the shaving cream should be high moisture to avoid irritating your skin. It's a good idea to apply anti-itch ointment or diaper rash ointment afterwards to avoid itching and chafing.
