I let my fears take over and weigh me down. Singing makes me happy. I do it at home but family made comments that make me uncomfortable to do it anymore. I have stage fright so doing it publicly, even to 2-3 people is impossible for me, well at least that's what I've convinced myself. Drawing, reading, creative writing, sewing, all these things I feel are dying off slowly because I'm getting in the way of myself. I don't know what to do. Reply to this Question Share |

If you like singing, look for a community choir in your area. You don't need to audition or be able to read music - just pay your subscription fees and get stuck in. Many of them also offer free taster sessions so you can see what they're like before you pay annual subs.
And Aunty BimBim's idea about joining an amateur theatre company is an excellent one. There's so much going on back stage that you can get involved in to express your creative side and there will be people around to coach and guide you if you haven't done it before.... there's set painting, poster design, costume alterations and making props to name but a few.

Join an amateur theatre club, start off small and go from there, or see if there are any singing groups that meet to sing for fun (not a serious choir) and join. Find a night school or similar and do some short courses or weekend workshops in all those arts you listed.
If you are not journaling get a note book and start, you will find if you commit to writing at least something once a day the words will soon start to flow ....
The workshops and short courses will not only help to get your creative side back on track but you will be meeting like minded people .... once you get over the fears you will find that ideas and collaborations will follow.
One step at a time, one foot in front of the other, and if your fear rears its ugly head, pause, and then resume the next day.
Good luck with it all
