writes: well ever since i turned 19 i had this strong urge to go into modelling and then acting.all my friends,family and even the people who just see me outside think that i am an actress.but i am not bragging ot anything but my family will never let me pursue a career.there is this very glamorous and prestigious beauty pageant that i want to participate in and i know i can win it but my parents wont let me,i was selected for it last year too but quit last moment cuz my parents were not keen,but i want to go for it this year.should i go against my parents and participate.its my dream to be part of it no matter if i won or losewhat should i do?i tried convincing them but they gave me a deaf ear they are very conservatiive Reply to this Question Share |

Hey,
I think I agree with the other two posts. I understand you want to respect your parents wishes however, you are now an adult therefore should not need their permission to do something like this. Surely they should know this too.
You should definatly follow your dreams and do what you want to do. You should live your life to the fullest with no regrets, because you only get to do it once.
Tell your parents you want to do it, don't keep it from them but let them know you are of legal age where you can make decisions for yourself.

To be honest, I think you should follow your dreams. Your parents can be as conservative as they want, if their own daughter pursing her dream makes them not love you or whatever, then they shouldn't be parents. You go to that pageant Ma'am and you give it all you've got. Message me how it goes!
