I myself, a girl, have a 10" one, and i get more bad comments and stares than a junkie.
there's heat when you get one, if you can't take it, don't bother. think about female empowerment. wuss out if you want to, but not because other people want you to.

You just have to deal with it as it comes. If you don't want the attention you shouldn't be getting one. Sorry.
One of my good friends has a mohawk (she is a girl too) and she has her head shaved just so there is still some hair left then she made designs like swirls and dots by shaving some hair closer to the scalp. It looks really good.
