Everyone is arranging stuff already and starting to ask people and agree with people who they're going with. The girl I want to go with, there is some competition for her and I need to ask her soon. Nobody has asked anyone like romantically yet but I think I am going to ask her with roses and stuff in a romantic way. Is this a good idea to go above and beyond what people are currently doing to push myself to stand out?And how long do roses live for without water and light? Could they last the night in water but without light if I cut them at an angle? Reply to this Question Share |

aaa well you didn't exactly say that in your question! If its a defo yes from her side then go for it! Its a nice gesture and not all girls are so lucky ;) good luck!

So I asked her what was up with that and she said we were still going together and she wanted to go with me, so I thought with the roses idea it would be like a confirmation for both of us so I have to stop worrying aobut it.

It is a very sweet idea and I sure would be flattered but if there is competition for this girl then for some reason I see a sad movie scene where you have to walk away with your roses because shes already said yes to someone else! Not every girl in my prom even wanted a date and the idea of the date seemed to disappear once we were all together! i wouldnt make a big deal now; ask her early and get her as your date and then blow her away on the night. The roses would be a nice welcome if you pick her up on the way to the prom, or a single rose for her dress or something like that...just an idea...Roses can look fresh for about 3/4 days and then they can start to look a bit 'old'. Put them in water with the special plant food you can get and cut their stems a little. I guess that you are planning to keep them overnight if you are worried about light, but if you are keeping them for just one night then im sure they'll still look fresh for the day after...though id say it would be better to buy them and give them!
