reader, anonymous, writes (8 May 2014): You may be spending too much of your time daydreaming and concentrating about being gay. You're a wee too young right now for thinking about having a girlfriend and being gay at the same time.
You have some growing up to do to deal with your feelings and to deal with how others accept you.
Your parents are wise not to allow dating until 16. You are too young to know how to deal with the cruelties people show toward openly-gay couples. You are just fantasizing about kisses and the stuff that is normal at your age. Sorry, you are going to have to wait out the time; and your mind and body have a lot more developing to do, before you go doing very grown-up things.
You are getting too far ahead of where your mind and body should be going at 14. People your age who think they can get a head-start end-up very confused and things happen they can't really handle. They sometimes need therapy or counseling to get better. It's okay that you know what you feel, it's just too soon to act on it.
You should be having fun and acting your age, not trying to be 16 before nature and time allows you to.
Sorry, but you are not a lesbian at 14. You just know what the word means. You have a long way to go before you can know what that really means; because people much older than you have to learn to understand it.
Try being a teenage girl before being a lesbian. It's a lot less complicated and more appropriate.

 You have all your life to be kissing and getting in to a relationship. At your age most people go through a lonely stage where they want to be with someone it is completely normal. But I think you should abide by your parents rules and wait until you are 16 before you look for a relationship. At the moment fill your life up with family and friends and work on being happy on your own. Good luck
