A female United Arab Emirates age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I told my crush that I like him. I didn't stick around to hear his reply though; I ran away. But ever since that incident, he and I have been talking more, staying up for hours at a stretch to chat. He has been incredibly nice, a bit flirty and concerned for my well-being.

He even agreed to go out and watch a movie with my friends and I even though he HATES going to the mall. And him and his friends stayed with us the whole night despite us girls moving from shop to shop (we didn't have a concrete plan on what to do and the boys insisted that we were in charge so ...)

Anyway, point is: how do I move forward from here? I'm not sure if he likes me, but he's not avoiding me so I take it as a good sign. What do I now?

CuriousGirl616 agony auntThese are good signs I think he likes you but play it cool let him make the next move. Youve already made the first move now let him say how he feels about you.

Sit back and enjoy the ride. You said the boys think they're in charge. He has shown he likes you. He protects you and follows you around.

Ask him to take you out, just the two of you. If he agrees, go and see what happens. Don't act like you like him too much; so he won't get a big head. Pretend you're doing it all to make him happy. Girls are smarter than boys when it comes to that.

Once he has time with you away from your friends, he can check out your personality, and you can check out his. Make sure he respects you and treats you like a lady. Don't let him force you to do anything you don't want to do. Meet up with your friends at the end of the date. Then you have a built-in excuse, if things get awkward.

Good luck!

it is a great sign that he's doing stuff he doesn't like just to spend time with you

carry the friendship forward for as long as he doesn't ask you out and make you his girlfriend :P
