I told him this and now he is really hurt, my question is how do I fix this uncomfortable feeling, did I do the wrong thing by telling him? Is this going to jinx our marriage? I personally think that giving you a ring from a pawn shop was (though financially perhaps a good idea) not the right way to go about it. This might symbolise how this guy goes about other things in life that should mean something. You did nothing wrong in my opinion - you are entitled to your dreams, hopes and wishes around something so important as a ring you are supposed to have for life. Is this more about the fact he doesn't know you well enough to know that you would not like a ring from a pawn shop and he's found out the hard way. I would stand your ground.
