A male United Kingdom age 30-35, *amski writes:

I have this amazing girlfriend, I am very much in love with her and she has told me she is too. she has this friend (a guy) who she has known from nursery, they have always been good mates but only recently has she found out that he is in love with her. Although he is now in spain he has asked her to fly out to see him. From the way she speaks about him i know he's a genuanly nice guy that cares about her, and i don't have a problem with her goin to see him. I feel they both need some time to sort things out. The problem is, I feel threatend by him and I can't bare the thought of losing her. What should I do?

man, this sucks. really, there is nothing you can do. maybe she will continue to want to be with you, and maybe she won't. there's nothing you can do to *make* that happen. it's what makes it so hard - you have no control at all.

best advice is just to let her go and try to stay as busy as possible, focusing on anything but girls. see if you can just play loads of sports, try to keep up with your schoolwork, and zone out w/ tv or movies when all else fails. you just need to try not to think about it and see how it all shakes out.

really sorry. something happened to me once, and it was horrible. you just have to wait it out.
