My high school English teacher is pretty much the closest I'll get to a dad and to tell you the truth, I think he knows that. I have called him dad a few times; in times of joking around and acting serious. If he's laid back and easy going I'm sure he won't mind.

reader, anonymous, writes (21 April 2008): If you really insist on telling him, don't just blurt it out and come across a bit, well, freaky. Say it casually if it happens to come into the conversation.
But to be honest, I think it would be better if you didn't tell him. Yeah, everyone feels close to their teacher at some point or another, but not necessarily as close as maybe a father. But don't feel as though you're unusual, because this is quite common really. Just honey, don't tell him. It could only get embarrassing, and something might come between you if he feels that you might develop more feelings for him. An actual relationship is entirely illegal, I trust that you're aware of that.
