writes:dearcupid,good day, before my husband and i got married almost 5 years ago, there is a rumors which i don't believe before that He has a relationship with his 2nd cousin., and the girl applied to work abroad.we knew each other through my co workers and He started courted me.i accept him as my boyfriend, and as time goes by, the girl contacted him through phone they talk and my boyfriend don't want me to hear what they are talking that the start i doubted him that the rumors is true.one time the girl texted him and she called my bf a bhebe, i dont really know what to do after i read the message.i texted back the girl asking her what her relationship with my boyfriend she replied me she's the wife and a second cousin too.i got mad to my bf and confronted him about what happenings. because of my love to my bf i forget everything until we got married.we already married but the girl still contacted him, we always quarrel because of the this.i always caught him changes the girl name into a boy's name in order to hide the girls number until now they still communicate with each other i don't know what to do now we have one children. last time i told him that better to separate with each other if my life always miserable with him but he told me just hold on to marriage.it really hurts me every time he lies on me.please help me.

reader, anonymous, writes (12 October 2011): Okay, it is quite difficult to understand exactly what you mean, but I think what you are saying is that this woman is NOT legally married to your husband now, but she does call herself his "wife" because they were married once before? Before he married you? Did they get divorced? Is he completely denying any relationship ever with her? I am sorry but it is not very clear what you are describing.

ian mitch is verified as being by the original poster of the questionmy friend what im telling is my husband is single when we got married only the cousin whose his ex gf is telling me that she is the wife of my boyfriend before that now is my husband.she told me that way maybe because there is something happening to them before.what advice should you give to me.please help me.

reader, anonymous, writes (12 October 2011): How did you become aware of these rumours? Did co-workers tell you? Can you ask your husband's family about this situation? Do you think that they would tell you the truth?If there is a marriage between them then it will probably be recorded somewhere official. Find out where that would usually be. If you can't trust anything that anyone is telling you then you can try to find out if a marriage is registered anywhere. If you can't do this then you can go to the police because, unless it is allowed in his religion, usually he will not be allowed to have several wives and this would be considered to be illegal. Even if this is allowed under his religion then there would usually be an obligation to let you know that a first wife already exists.
