Is this dangerous if i do leave it and if I stop shaving or plucking will the ingrown hairs continue to appear or will they stop happening?

I sometimes get ingrown hairs, too. And it isnt confined to that intimate area, I get them on my legs, too. If you leave them be they will continue growing and curling under the skin wich can lead to pain or infection. Therefore I wouldnt just ignore them. I agree with Stina that cleaning the area, exfoliating (which can take off the top layer of skin therefore freeing the ingrown, or at least getting closer) and using a tweezer to get the ingrown out is a good idea. I often pick at them with my nails, as you do, and have never had a problem, but it is best to make sure everything is clean.

Hello there,
I would try this product:
http://www.blissworld.com/product/bath+-+body/shop+bath+-+body/hair+removal/bliss+ingrown+hair+eliminating+peeling+pads.do
It should help out immensly. Also, you might want to take a look around the rest of the website to see what other products they offer. I've used this wax kit:
http://www.blissworld.com/product/bath+-+body/shop+bath+-+body/hair+removal/poetic+%27house+of+wax%27+set+.do
The first time I used it, it turned out to be a disaster, though. (It hurt so much! lol) Just make sure that if you decide to wax on your own, you do it little by little! It should be no problem then, and it will help with the ingrown hair problem when done correctly. At least, that's what I've found.
To answer your question about if it's dangerous or not, sometimes ingrown hairs can become infected. Especially if you remove them with your fingernails (oww!!).
When you remove the hair, I suggest wahing the area of your skin with soap to make sure the area is clean, soaking a washcloth in warm water and holding it on top of the area you need to "work on" and taking the hair out with sterile tweezers (you can just dip them in an antiseptic, such as rubbing alcohol). The hair should come out much easier then scratching it with your nails. Plus, it will keep the area from getting infected. I would also suggest rubbing the area with an antiseptic (I use hydrogen peroxide since it doesn't sting) to be extra safe.
You might also want to exfoliate when you shower to keep the area extra smooth (don't do this right after you remove the hair, it will burn!). I use this and it works very well for me:

Hope this helps!
