 Alot of guys are very insecure about asking girls out and just want to keep it friendly If he can't ask you out, he's probably just not mature enough to date girls or he likes the ego attention from you and wants nothing more. I would see his reaction to a suggestion from you to meet somewhere to do something together, as friends, and see if he's interested, but I wouldn't count on much happening, he just sounds like friendship only material.
