I still want to be with her, even though I have come along way in "getting over" her!

A male United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

My girlfriend broke up with me just over 10 weeks ago. I asked her out a couple of weeks after the breakup and she said no because she thought it would be awkward and she wasnt ready. Since then we have spoke on maybe 1 or 2 occasions when she has contacted me, I havent contacted her first. We havent talked on the phone or seen eachother at all, just by text messages.

So about a week ago she just asked me how I was etc.. and I just replied in a polite way, and we've continue to talk on and off in a friendly manner most of the week. This morning I said about meeting up at the weekend, then text again saying actually, thats a silly idea, just ignore that bit. She replied a while later saying "erm, i guess its time we had a catchup" and suggested a place and time to meet.

I dont know what to think about it, whether to go or not, or how to approach the whole thing? Can anyone offer any help or guidance?

Also, I'd prefer to meet later then she suggested, shall I suggest a different time or is that silly?

I still want to be with her, even though I have come along way in "getting over" her and meeting new people...help!!
