You say here that he is so nice to you.
If you did not want a relationship, you would not be with him.
But as you were with him, it means you that want relationship.
Now speaking about "someone i have previusly gone out with":
He is still interested, but does he know that you do not wanna have a relationship and only wanna be "short term" with him?
