writes: im on the contraceptive pill at the minute which i have just recently started using, i finished my period the other day but then the next day, it started again for about 6-8 hours. it was quite heavy and i was just wundering why this has happened?

When you take the pill, all kinds of crazy things happen. You are going in and messing up your body's most natural function here and making it do un natural things.
Your periods will be messed up for a good few months and you'll probably get other symptoms too so just be aware that it takes a long while for your body to get used to all these strange chemicals you are swallowing every day.
If after 6 months of taking it right, you are still getting strange stuff happening then go back to the doc and try another pill. There are a million varieties out there, I've been on 5 so far, all with different effects on me.
Also, remember to use condoms as although the pill is 98% effective when taken right, it's still not worth the risk of getting pregnant etc. Not to mention all those lovely diseases out there.
