(MOD NOTE: TITLE IS ORIGINAL POSTERS)Sexual thoughts and family

Okay so I'm 17 and for about a year ive had "intrusive thoughts" where i picture sexual acts with basicly everyone i meet, even family members. I'm quite disgusted with myself and was sickened, but i found relief when i found out that it was a clinical disorder. i think this stemmed from when i was 12 and i was attracted to women's feet, but i didn't know what this meant. Anyways when i was 12 my sister was joking around ( 10 at the time) and put her feet on my face. I liked it and that night i smelled them when she was sleeping for about 10 seconds. That was the only time i have ever done that. though i think later that year i had one voluntary thought about doing something similar, honestly just once. Since then never until last year i suddenly remembered it and now that i am totally aware of my fetish and what it implies i was horrified and disgusted with myself. I love my sister and would never do anything like that now that i know, but it haunts me every day. I believe these re-occuring thoughts of guilt is what lead to my present dilema of involuntary sexual thoughts.

Is it normal what i did? I was 12, i really didn't know any better and i never would do anything like that today.

Not My Name agony auntI am suspecting from your comments that perhaps suffer from OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) If this is in fact a correct assumption, then you will also learn through counselling that it is the nature of the disorder to think things / worry you may do things, that in reality you would never do. It is also common at the onset for one to recall past incidents, over analize them, and then beat up on yourself for what was at the time pretty innocent, but that the disorde now causes you to view as something with an unhealthy motive. I bet no motive was involved atr all when smelling your sisters feet, ... if you liked the smell, then you liked the smell, I bet tho you did not attach all the current thought processes to the act at the time of doing it. People like all sorts of smells than others find odd - petrol, motor oil, lawn clippings, and dare I say it - some people evenget in to others flatulence and have a good laugh about it. So don't over think something as simple a smell.

If OCD is indeed your disorder, then it also helps to dissacoiate from the thoughts. KNOW that they are JUST THOUGHT - NOT your true desires, NOT things you would ever act upon. Look at them as a seperate entity to yourself and dont take on board your own self worth all the nonsense crap that this disorder tends to come up with.

Best Wishes xxx

RAINORFIRE agony auntHHHMMM. In my opinion normal is what you feel you can live with, if your doing something that your ashamed of and making you uncomfortable its not normal. but on that same note what you find normal others wont and theres a difference between normal and acceptable. I think what you described is normal but not acceptable im not judging the standards im talking about are the ones imposed by laws and traditions of society as a whole. Feet sniffing normal sniffing a sisters feet normal but not acceptable.

Look you where twelve i dont even remember being twelve im glad. Get over it its not a big deal your sis was sleep she doesnt kno your not a bad person. Now if you like feet meet a nice girl and let her kno and im sure she wont have a problem with you doing what ever you want to her feet whithin reason.

You say you found out you have a clinical disorder well maybe you should get proffesional help a therapist or something, but i think your main problem stems from guilt from what you did but theres no reason to feel that way, in fact you should be able to have what ever fantasy you want just keep them in your head God doesnt let us read minds for a reason if you knew the crazy things people where thinking you would realise your normal and everyone else is nuts. good luck

I guess that there is no such thing as normal when it comes to these things but I dont thing its anything to worry about. If it's causing you concern, try not to think about it.

Also, lots of people have a foot fetish, that is actually quite common.
