I wouldn't say we're great friends, but there is a spot of friendship there. He's a very lovely person and he's nice to everyone, but I feel like he's nicer to me personally, or it might just be me feeling that way.I really want to know how he feels without making it obvious that I like him. I talk to him and hug him, but I really do want to be more than friends. A lot of people are telling me the age gap is too big, but it doesn't bother me, I'm scared it might bother him. And another thing, I don't want to directly tell him I like him, because my best friend is a boy and he says that boys do get a bit freaked out if you say it to them. Please help? This is getting to be a really big problem for me. Thanks.

Well, one way to tell is to see if he's treating the other girls he knows the same way. If you're the only one, then I would say that he does like you.
Since he's in grade 12, he may have a lot of stuff on his mind that would make him hesitate in making you his girlfriend- exams, university, etc. If he rejects you, try not to be too hurt.
