(smiling) Does it mean your chums are giving you a bad time for liking this lad? I would say, in that case, to tell them this is your thing, not theirs, and they should mind their own business. (Or maybe it means something else. I am always learning something).

Many guys are as shy as you. If you have "heard" that he likes you, it is a better rumor than that he thinks you're gross...right? (smile). How about some simple conversation about the subjects,...something is interesting...or difficult. What does he think? Get him talking about what he is interested in, and take it from there. Does he like a particular type of film? Or actor/actress. Hey, there is a good one playing now at.... (the possibilities are large). Just be subtle. Guys don't care much for the overly aggressive types. But they do like knowing someone is interested in them. Just start with getting aquainted. He may then take the lead. And I agree with the previous poster,...don't use go-betweens. That is a turn-off. It shows a lack of sincerity, and seems more like a "set-up". Best wishes. (wink)

you are still very young, if you are shy tell him in a note, a text, or an email if you have access to a computer.
But don't get a friend to ask him for you, he won't think this is very cool.
Good luck
